Join Studio Bricolage and Bradstreet Craftshouse Restaurant for

Mixology: The Origin of Spirits, the second in the Mixology series, you and your friends will:

Discuss the Origin, Science of Fermentation and Distillation

  • Vodka, Potato “vs’ Grain “vs” Fruit
  • Tequila, Explain Agave, Different Styles
  • Taste and Discuss

The Philosophy of Ice

  • Discuss the Ice Program
  • The Art of how to Garnish a Cocktail

Along with jazz, the cocktail is one of America's gifts to the world. You will learn about the birth of these lovely beverages and enjoy a pre-cocktalian punch from colonial times. Bradstreet's mixologists will explain basic bar gear: shaker, muddler, strainer, juicer, zester, and jigger. You will get hands-on experience measuring, juicing, muddling, straining and shaking, the subtle and necessary steps to creating a great cocktail. Last, but certainly not least, you’ll get a brief introduction to the science of fermentation and distillation and how they create a wide range of spirits. Tasting Bradstreet's carefully selected collection of gin, rum, tequila, whiskey, brandy, vodka and rye whiskey will follow.

Studio Bricolage, a project of Leonardo’s Basement, is a 21st century, community-driven art, craft and technology playground for creative and adventurous adults who want to tinker, get messy, make mistakes, try again, experiment, geek out, chill out, invent and have fun in a casual, informal setting. Studio Bricolage offers classes and exhibitions at various locations and is known for its First Friday Adult Building Parties.
